• Display the instrument cluster PID I_ILLUMI_M item using the M-MDS.
• Is the PID On (Night) indicated when the light switch is in the TNS position?

Yes

Go to Step 3.

No
|
Go to the next step.

INSPECT LIGHT SWITCH
• Inspect the light switch.
(See LIGHT SWITCH INSPECTION.)
• Is the light switch normal?

Yes
|
Perform the DTC inspection for the start stop unit, instrument cluster and the blind spot monitoring (BSM) control module.

No
|
Replace the light switch.
|

VERIFY MALFUNCTION (BRIGHTNESS CONDITION)
• Display the following blind spot monitoring (BSM) system PIDs and simulation items using the M-MDS:

• Does the PID value indicate 92% when the simulation item is turned on?

Explain to the customer that the system is normal.

No
|
Replace the blind spot monitoring (BSM) control module (LH).
