Fuel injector range/performance malfunction

DETECTION CONDITION

•  The injection amount correction procedure does not complete.

Diagnostic support note

•  The MIL does not illuminate.

•  The DTC is stored in the PCM memory.

•  Can not clear DTC from PCM memory by battery disconnected.

POSSIBLE CAUSE

•  Loose connection temporary between DLC-2 and M-MDS while injection amount correction.

•  Fuel injector malfunction

•  Engine malfunction (insufficient compression)

•  Injection amount correction procedure has not been completed.

•  PCM malfunction

Diagnostic procedure

STEP	INSPECTION		ACTION
1	VERIFY FREEZE FRAME DATA AND DIAGNOSTIC MONITORING TEST RESULTS HAS BEEN RECORDED • Have FREEZE FRAME DATA (mode2) or snapshot data been recorded?	Yes	Go to the next step.
1		No	Record the FREEZE FRAME DATA (mode2) and snapshot data on the repair order, then go to the next step.
2	VERIFY RELATED SERVICE INFORMATION AVAILABILITY • Verify related Service Information availability. • Is any related Service Information available?	Yes	Perform repair or diagnosis according to the available Service Information. • If the vehicle is not repaired, go to the next step.
2		No	Go to the next step.
3	INSPECT DLC-2 FOR POOR CONNECTION • Switch the ignition to off. • Inspect for poor connection between DLC-2 and M-MDS (such as damaged/pulled-out pins, and corrosion). • Is there any malfunction detected?	Yes	Repair or replace the terminal, then go to Step 7.
3		No	Go to the next step.
4	INSPECT FUEL INJECTOR • Inspect the fuel injectors for all cylinders. (See FUEL INJECTOR INSPECTION [MZR-CD 2.2].) • Is there any malfunction?	Yes	Replace suspect fuel injector, then go to Step 7.
4		No	Go to the next step.
5	INSPECT ENGINE COMPRESSION • Inspect the engine compression. (See COMPRESSION INSPECTION [MZR-CD 2.2].) • Is it normal?	Yes	Go to the next step.
5		No	Perform engine overhaul for repairs, then go to Step 7.
6	PERFORM INJECTION AMOUNT CORRECTION PROCEDURE • Perform the injection amount procedure again. • Start the engine. • Verify that the glow indicator light condition. • Do the glow indicator light turn off?	Yes	Go to the next step.
6		No	Fuel injector adjustment procedure (fuel injector data reset and fuel injector code program etc.) again. Then go to the next step.
7	VERIFY TROUBLESHOOTING OF DTC P1200:00 COMPLETED • Make sure to reconnect all disconnected connectors. • Clear the DTC from the PCM memory using the M-MDS. (See AFTER REPAIR PROCEDURE [MZR-CD 2.2].) • Perform the injection amount correction procedure. • Perform the DTC Reading Procedure. (See ON-BOARD DIAGNOSTIC TEST [MZR-CD 2.2].) • Is the same DTC present?	Yes	Repeat the inspection from Step 1. • If the malfunction recurs, replace the PCM. (See PCM REMOVAL/INSTALLATION [MZR-CD 2.2].) Go to the next step.
7		No	Go to the next step.
8	VERIFY AFTER REPAIR PROCEDURE • Perform the “AFTER REPAIR PROCEDURE”. (See AFTER REPAIR PROCEDURE [MZR-CD 2.2].) • Are any DTCs present?	Yes	Go to the applicable DTC inspection. (See DTC TABLE [MZR-CD 2.2].)
8		No	DTC troubleshooting completed.
