DTC P2463:00 [MZR-CD 2.2]
id0102f3154200
DTC P2463:00 |
Diesel particulate filter restriction-soot accumulation |
---|---|
DETECTION CONDITION
• The PCM calculates diesel particulate filter soot accumulation based on the exhaust gas pressure sensor signal. If the PCM calculates that soot accumulation amount is more than 13 g/L {0.8 lb/ft3}, the PCM determines that the diesel particulate filter soot accumulation excessive.
Diagnostic support note
• The MIL illuminates if the PCM detects the above malfunction condition in first drive cycle.
• PENDING CODE is available if the PCM detects the above malfunction condition during the first drive cycle.
• FREEZE FRAME DATA (mode2) and snapshot data are available.
• The DTC is stored in the PCM memory.
POSSIBLE CAUSE
• Exhaust gas pressure sensor piping restriction and/or damaged
• Diesel particulate filter restriction and/or damaged
• PCM malfunction
Diagnostic procedure
STEP |
INSPECTION |
ACTION |
---|---|---|---|
1
IDENTIFY TRIGGER DTC FOR FREEZE FRAME DATA (MODE2)
• Is DTC P2463:00 on FREEZE FRAME DATA (mode2)?
Yes
Go to the next step.
No
Go to troubleshooting procedures for DTC in FREEZE FRAME DATA (mode2).
(See DTC TABLE [MZR-CD 2.2].)
2
VERIFY FREEZE FRAME DATA (MODE2) OR SNAPSHOT DATA HAVE BEEN RECORDED
• Have FREEZE FRAME DATA (mode2) or snapshot data been recorded?
Yes
Go to the next step.
No
Record the FREEZE FRAME DATA (mode2) and snapshot data on the repair order, then go to the next step.
3
VERIFY RELATED SERVICE INFORMATION AVAILABILITY
• Verify related Service Information availability.
• Is any related Service Information available?
Yes
Perform repair or diagnosis according to the available Service Information.
• If the vehicle is not repaired, go to the next step.
No
Go to the next step.
4
INSPECT EXHAUST GAS PRESSURE SENSOR PIPING
• Inspect exhaust pressure piping for restriction and damaged.
• Is there any restriction and damaged?
Yes
Repair or replace malfunctioning part, then go to Step 7.
No
Go to the next step.
5
MONITOR DIESEL PARTICULATE FILTER SOOT ACCUMULATION
• Monitor PM_ACC, PM_ACC_DSD and PM_GEN PIDs using the M-MDS.
• Is one of the monitored value 17 g/L (1.06 lb/ft3) or more?
Yes
Replace the catalytic converter.
Then go to Step 7.
No
Perform injection amount correction procedure then perform manual diesel particulate filter regeneration procedure.
Then go to the next step.
6
INSPECT FOR RESTRICTION OR CLOGGED IN DIESEL PARTICULATE FILTER
• Start the engine and warm up to normal operation temperature.
• Monitor EXHPRESS PID using the M-MDS at idle.
• Is the EXHPRESS PID value less than 4.0 kPa {30 mmHg, 1.2 inHg}?
Yes
Go to the next step.
No
Visually inspect diesel particulate filter.
If damaged or deterioration found, replace the catalytic converter.
Then go to the next step.
7
VERIFY TROUBLESHOOTING OF DTC P2463:00 COMPLETED
• Make sure to reconnect all disconnected connectors.
• Clear the DTC from the PCM memory using the M-MDS.
• Start the engine.
• Perform the DTC Reading Procedure.
• Is the same DTC present?
Yes
Repeat the inspection from Step 1.
• If the malfunction recurs, replace the PCM.
Go to the next step.
No
Go to the next step.
8
VERIFY AFTER REPAIR PROCEDURE
• Perform the “AFTER REPAIR PROCEDURE”.
• Are any DTCs present?
Yes
Go to the applicable DTC inspection.
(See DTC TABLE [MZR-CD 2.2].)
No
DTC troubleshooting completed.
