DTC P2598:00

VBC solenoid valve stuck open

DETECTION CONDITION
•  The PCM monitors the VBC solenoid valve position using the wastegate valve position sensor. The PCM compares the target and actual VBC solenoid valve position. If the PCM detects that actual VBC solenoid valve exceeds the target position excessively while the VBC solenoid valve is moving to close, the PCM determines that the VBC solenoid valve is stuck open.
POSSIBLE CAUSE
•  VBC solenoid valve connector or terminal malfunction
•  Obstruction in VBC solenoid valve
•  VBC solenoid valve malfunction
•  PCM malfunction

•  Remove the VBC solenoid valve.
•  Visually inspect VBC solenoid valve.
•  Is there any obstacle (carbon deposit etc.) on VBC solenoid valve?
Yes
Remove the obstacle, then go to the next step.
No
Go to the next step.
6
INSPECT THE VBC SOLENOID VALVE
•  Inspect the VBC solenoid valve.
•  Is the VBC solenoid valve normal?
Yes
Go to the next step.
