DTC P0533:00 |
Refrigerant pressure sensor circuit high input |
---|---|
DETECTION CONDITION
• The PCM monitors the input signal from the refrigerant pressure sensor. If the voltage from the refrigerant pressure sensor is more than 4.49997 V, the PCM determine that there is a malfunction in the refrigerant pressure sensor.
POSSIBLE CAUSE
• Refrigerant pressure sensor connector or terminal malfunction
• Short to power supply in wiring harness between refrigerant pressure sensor terminal D and PCM terminal 1O
• Refrigerant pressure sensor signal circuit and power supply circuit are shorted to each other
• Refrigerant pressure sensor malfunction
• PCM connector or terminal malfunction
• Open circuit in wiring harness between refrigerant pressure sensor terminal C and PCM terminal 1N
• PCM malfunction

INSPECT REFRIGERANT PRESSURE SENSOR CONNECTOR CONDITION
• Switch the ignition to off.
• Disconnect the refrigerant pressure sensor connector.
• Inspect for poor connection (such as damaged/pulled-out pins, corrosion)
• Is there any malfunction?
Yes
Repair or replace the connector and/or terminals, then go to Step 9.
No
Go to the next step.
4
INSPECT REFRIGERANT PRESSURE SENSOR SIGNAL CIRCUIT FOR SHORT TO POWER SUPPLY
• Switch the ignition to ON (engine off).
• Disconnect the refrigerant pressure sensor connector.
• Measure the voltage at the refrigerant pressure sensor terminal D (wiring harness-side).
• Is there any voltage?
Yes
Repair or replace the wiring harness for a possible short to power supply, then go to Step 9.
No
Go to the next step.
5
INSPECT REFRIGERANT PRESSURE SENSOR SIGNAL CIRCUIT AND POWER SUPLLY CIRCUIT FOR SHORT TO EACH OTHER
• Switch the ignition to off.
• Refrigerant pressure sensor and PCM connectors are disconnected.
• Inspect for continuity between the refrigerant pressure sensor terminal A and D (wiring harness-side)
• Is there continuity?
Yes
Repair or replace the wiring harness for a possible short to each other, then go to Step 9.
No
Go to the next step.
6
INSPECT REFRIGERANT PRESSURE SENSOR
• Inspect the refrigerant pressure sensor.
• Is there any malfunction?

No
Go to the next step.
7
INSPECT PCM CONNECTOR CONDITION
• Disconnect the PCM connector.
• Inspect for poor connection (such as damaged/pulled-out pins, corrosion)
• Is there any malfunction?
Yes
Repair or replace the connector and/or terminals, then go to Step 9.
No
Go to the next step.
8
INSPECT REFRIGERANT PRESSURE SENSOR CIRCUIT FOR OPEN CIRCUIT
• Refrigerant pressure sensor and PCM connectors are disconnected.
• Inspect for continuity between the following terminals (wiring harness-side):
• Is there continuity?
Yes
Intermittent concern exists.
Go to the next step.
No
Repair or replace the wiring harness for a possible open circuit, then go to the next step.
