EGR VALVE POSITION SENSOR INSPECTION [MZ-CD 1.6]

Visual Inspection

1.  Remove the EGR valve. (See EGR VALVE REMOVAL/INSTALLATION [MZ-CD 1.6].)

2.  Verify that there are no metal shavings on the sensor.

3.  Visually inspect the EGR valve for the following:

•  Damage

•  Cracks

•  Rusted sensor terminal

•  Bent sensor terminal

―  If there is any malfunction, replace the EGR valve. (See EGR VALVE REMOVAL/INSTALLATION [MZ-CD 1.6].)

4.  Install the EGR valve. (See EGR VALVE REMOVAL/INSTALLATION [MZ-CD 1.6].)

Voltage Inspection

1.  Switch the ignition to ON.

2.  Measure the voltage between EGR valve position sensor terminal A and body ground.

•  If not as specified, replace the EGR valve. (See EGR VALVE REMOVAL/INSTALLATION [MZ-CD 1.6].)
