Diagnostic procedure

STEP

INSPECTION

ACTION

1
CONFIRM EHPAS DTC
•  Retrieve the EHPAS DTC using the M-MDS (IDS).
•  Are any DTCs present?
Yes
Go to the applicable DTC inspection.
No
Go to the next step.
2
INSPECT SAS 15 A/ABS IG 7.5 A FUSE
•  Switch the ignition to off.
•  Inspect the SAS 15 A fuse.
•  Inspect the ABS IG 7.5 A fuse.
•  Is the fuse normal?
Yes
Go to the next step.
No
If the fuse is melt:
•  Repair or replace the wiring harness between SAS 15 A fuse and ABS IG 7.5 A fuse.
•  Repair or replace the wiring harness between ABS IG 7.5 A fuse and EHPAS control module terminal 2F.
•  Replace the fuse.
If the fuse is deterioration:
•  Replace the fuse.
3
INSPECT EHPAS CONTROL MODULE POWER SUPPLY CIRCUIT FOR OPEN CIRCUIT
•  Switch the ignition to ON.
•  Measure the voltage at the EHPAS control module terminal 2F (wiring harness-side).
Yes
Go to the next step.
No
Repair or replace the wiring harness for a possible open circuit.
4
INSPECT EHPAS CONTROL MODULE GROUND CIRCUIT FOR OPEN CIRCUIT
•  Switch the ignition to off.
•  Disconnect the EHPAS control module connector.
•  Inspect for continuity between EHPAS control module terminal 1A (wiring harness-side) and body ground.
•  Is there continuity?
Yes
Go to the next step.
No
Inspect the wiring harness for open circuit and ground point.
Repair or replace the malfunctioning part according to the inspection result.
5
VERIFY WHETHER MALFUNCTION IS IN EHPAS CONTROL MODULE OR INSTRUMENT CLUSTER
•  Turn off all warning light and indicator lights using the instrument cluster PID WL+IL of active command modes.
•  Does the power steering malfunction indicator light turn off?
