DETECTION CONDITION
|
• Voltage detected at water heater unit terminals E is less than 9 V.
|

POSSIBLE CAUSE
|
• Battery malfunction
• FOH 20 A fuse
• Short to ground between battery and water heater unit terminal E
• Open circuit between battery and water heater unit terminal E
• Water heater unit malfunction

INSPECT BATTERY VOLTAGE
• Measure battery voltage.
• Is voltage more than 9 V?

Yes

Go to the next step.

No
|
Battery is weak.
• Inspect charging system.

INSPECT WIRING HARNESS BETWEEN FOH 20 A FUSE AND WATER HEATER UNIT
• Measure voltage at water heater unit connector terminal E.
• Is voltage more than 9 V?

Yes
|
Go to the next step.
|
|
No
|
Repair the fuse or wiring harness.
|

INSPECT WATER HEATER UNIT
• Clear the DTC.
• Perform the KOEO Self Test.
• Is the same DTC present?
|
Yes
|
Replace the water heater unit.
|
|
No
|
Go to the next step.
|

|
VERIFY AFTER REPAIR PROCEDURE
• Perform after repair procedure.
• Are any DTCs present?
|
Yes
|
Go to the applicable DTC troubleshooting.
|
|
No
|
Troubleshooting completed.
