DESCRIPTION

AFS control module internal malfunction

DETECTION CONDITION

• AFS control module detects the internal failure when the ignition is ON.

POSSIBLE CAUSE

• AFS control module internal malfunction

Diagnostic Procedure

STEP	INSPECTION		ACTION
1	PERFORM DTC INSPECTION AND VERIFY THAT MALFUNCTIONING PART IS AFS CONTROL MODULE • Clear the DTC from the AFS control module using the M-MDS. (See CLEARING DTC [AFS (ADAPTIVE FRONT LIGHTING SYSTEM)].) • Perform the AFS control module DTC inspection using the M-MDS. (See DTC INSPECTION [AFS (ADAPTIVE FRONT LIGHTING SYSTEM)].) • Is the same DTC present?	Yes	Replace the AFS control module, then go to the next step. (See AFS (ADAPTIVE FRONT LIGHTING SYSTEM) CONTROL MODULE REMOVAL/INSTALLATION.)
1		No	Go to the next step.
2	VERIFY THAT NO OTHER DTCs ARE PRESENT • Are any DTCs present?	Yes	Go to the applicable DTC inspection. (See DTC TABLE [AFS (ADAPTIVE FRONT LIGHTING SYSTEM)].)
2		No	DTC troubleshooting completed.
