Purpose

•  The i-stop guidance display informs the driver of the reason for not operating the i-stop (engine stop control) while the vehicle is being driven or is stopped.

Function

•  The i-stop guidance displays the reason for not operating the i-stop engine stop control in the multi information display based on the following CAN signals sent from the PCM or climate control unit while the i-stop effect screen is displayed.
Signals sent from PCM
―  i-stop-related information signal
―  Vehicle speed signal
Signal sent from climate control unit
―  i-stop request (i-stop (engine stop control) inhibit command) signal

•  The i-stop guidance displays in the multi information display.

If an engine-stop by the i-stop control is attempted, the guidance indicates that the steering angle is not within the specification of the i-stop (engine stop control) control conditions.
If an engine-stop by the i-stop control is attempted, the guidance indicates that the brake fluid pressure is not the specification or more for the i-stop (engine stop control) control conditions.
Displays if all of the i-stop (engine stop control) control conditions for the steering angle and brake fluid pressure are not met.
Displays if the system switches to engine stall mode while the i-stop function is operating.

Displays while the i-stop function is operating.

Displays if all of the i-stop operation conditions for the engine, A/C, and battery are met.

Displays while the battery is recharging during deceleration fuel-cut.

Displays while the vehicle is being driven.

Operation

1.  The instrument cluster receives the CAN signal sent from the PCM or climate control unit.

2.  If the i-stop guidance display conditions are met based on the CAN signal, the instrument cluster sends the i-stop guidance information signal to the multi information display.

3.  If the i-stop guidance information signal is received, the multi information display displays the i-stop guidance information.
