FUEL FILTER COMPONENT REMOVAL/INSTALLATION [MZR-CD 2.2]

Warning

•  Fuel is very flammable liquid. If fuel spills or leaks from the pressurized fuel system, it will cause serious injury or death and facility breakage. Fuel can also irritate skin and eyes. To prevent this, always complete the “Fuel Line Safety Procedure”, while referring to the “BEFORE SERVICE PRECAUTION”.

L.H.D.

1.  Disconnect the negative battery cable. (See BATTERY REMOVAL/INSTALLATION [MZR-CD 2.2].)

2.  Remove the engine cover. (See ENGINE COVER REMOVAL/INSTALLATION [MZR-CD 2.2].)

3.  Complete the “BEFORE SERVICE PRECAUTION”. (See BEFORE SERVICE PRECAUTION [MZR-CD 2.2].)

4.  Remove in the order indicated in the table.

1	Connector (with fuel warmer)
2	Connector
3	Fuel hose
4	Clip (with fuel warmer)
5	Clip
6	Fuel filter component
7	Fuel filter bracket

5.  Install in the reverse order of removal.

6.  Complete the “AFTER SERVICE PRECAUTION”. (See AFTER SERVICE PRECAUTION [MZR-CD 2.2].)

7.  Start the engine and verify that fuel does not leak from the fuel system.

•  If fuel leaks, reinstall the fuel filter component.

4.  Remove in the order indicated in the table.

2	Fuel filter bracket (See Fuel filter bracket removal note.)
3	Fuel filter component

5.  Install in the reverse order of removal.

6.  Complete the “AFTER SERVICE PRECAUTION”. (See AFTER SERVICE PRECAUTION [MZR-CD 2.2].)

7.  Start the engine and verify that fuel does not leak from the fuel system.

•  If fuel leaks, reinstall the fuel filter component.

Fuel filter bracket removal note

1.  Remove the fuel filter bracket and fuel filter as a single unit.

2.  Remove the fuel filter bracket from the fuel filter component.
