AFTER SERVICE PRECAUTION [MZR-CD 2.2]

Warning
•  Fuel line spills and leakage are dangerous. Fuel can ignite and cause serious injuries or death and damage. When installing the fuel hose, observe “Fuel Hose Installation” described below.
Caution
•  If fuel does not pass through the fuel filter, foreign material may have penetrated in the supply pump, and this may cause a malfunction resulting in damage to the supply pump. Therefore, do not install the fuel hoses (main and return side) in reverse. When installing the fuel hose, always follow the Fuel Hose Installation Note in the Workshop Manual and perform the procedure. (See BEFORE SERVICE PRECAUTION [MZR-CD 2.2].)

Fuel Line Air Bleeding


L.H.D.

1.  Disconnect the fuel return hose.

2.  Connect the SST.

3.  Operate the SST several times.

4.  Disconnect the SST.

5.  Connect the fuel return hose. (See Fuel Hose Installation.)

Caution
•  Continuously cranking the engine for over 30 s can damage the battery and starter.

6.  Continue cranking the engine for 30 s and stop for 5—10 s until the engine starts.

―  If the engine does not start, return to step 1.


R.H.D.

1.  Operate the priming pump on the fuel filter several times.

Caution
•  Continuously cranking the engine for over 30 s can damage the battery and starter.

2.  Continue cranking the engine for 30 s and stop for 5—10 s until the engine starts.

―  If the engine does not start, return to step 1.


Fuel Hose Installation

1.  Verify that there is no damage or deformation on the fuel hose and fuel pipe when installing.

2.  When installing the fuel hose connected to the supply pump, verify each side (main and return), and install at the specified position. (See SUPPLY PUMP REMOVAL/INSTALLATION [MZR-CD 2.2].)
