Electric power steering (EPS) warning light does not illuminate with ignition at ON

POSSIBLE CAUSE
•  EPS warning light circuit malfunction in instrument cluster
•  Error originates from EPS control module, and “off” signal is generated.
―  EPS control module malfunction
―  Communication error between EPS control module and instrument cluster

VERIFY WHETHER MALFUNCTION IS IN INSTRUMENT CLUSTER OR ELSEWHERE
•  Turn on all warning lights and indicator lights using the instrument cluster PID ‘’WL+IL’’ of active command modes function using the M-MDS.
•  Does the EPS warning light turn on according to active command modes function?
Yes
Go to the next step.
No
Replace the instrument cluster.

CONFIRM INSTRUMENT CLUSTER DTC
•  Retrieve the instrument cluster DTC using the M-MDS.
•  Are any DTCs present?
Yes
Go to the applicable DTC inspection.
No
Go to the next step.

CONFIRM EPS CONTROL MODULE DTC
•  Retrieve the EPS control module DTC using the M-MDS.
•  Are any DTCs present?
Yes
Go to the applicable DTC inspection.
No
Replace the EPS control module.
