Exhaust gas pressure sensor No.2: Signal error

DETECTION CONDITION

•  When the following conditions are met, the exhaust gas pressure sensor No.2 value is 5 kPa or more.

―  2—6 s after engine stop

―  The following DTCs are not detected

•  Constant voltage power supply control system: P0652:00, P0653:00

•  Exhaust gas pressure sensor No.2: P2454:00, P2455:00

Diagnostic support note

•  This is a continuous monitor (other).

•  The check engine light does not illuminate.

•  FREEZE FRAME DATA/Snapshot data is available.

•  DTC is stored in the PCM memory.

FAIL-SAFE FUNCTION

•  Exhaust gas pressure sensor No.2 connector or terminal malfunction

•  PCM connector or terminal malfunction

•  Exhaust gas pressure sensor No.2 malfunction

VERIFY OTHER RELATED DTCs

•  Switch the ignition OFF, and then switch it ON (engine off).

•  Display the DTCs using the M-MDS.

•  Has any DTC other than P2452:00 been stored?

Yes

Repair the malfunctioning location according to the applicable DTC troubleshooting.

No

Go to the next step.

INSPECT EXHAUST GAS PRESSURE SENSOR NO.2 CONNECTOR CONDITION

•  Switch the ignition OFF.

•  Disconnect the exhaust gas pressure sensor No.2 connector.

•  Inspect the connector engagement and connection condition, and inspect the terminals for damage, deformation, corrosion, or disconnection.

•  Is the connector normal?

Yes

Go to the next step.

No

Repair or replace the connector, then go to Step 6.

INSPECT PCM CONNECTOR CONDITION

•  Disconnect the PCM connector.

•  Inspect the connector engagement and connection condition, and inspect the terminals for damage, deformation, corrosion, or disconnection.

•  Is the connector normal?

Yes

Go to the next step.

No

Repair or replace the connector, then go to Step 6.

INSPECT EXHAUST GAS PRESSURE SENSOR NO.2

•  Reconnect all disconnected connectors and hoses.

•  Inspect exhaust gas pressure sensor No.2.

•  Is exhaust gas pressure sensor No.2 normal?

Yes

Go to the next step.

No

Replace exhaust gas pressure sensor No.2, then go to the next step.

VERIFY THAT REPAIRS HAVE BEEN COMPLETED

•  Reconnect all disconnected connectors and hoses.

•  Refer to the [MEMORY CLEARING PROCEDURE] and clear the DTC.
(See CLEARING DTC [PCM (SKYACTIV-D 2.2)])

•  Start the engine and warm it up.

•  Drive the vehicle on flat roads under the following conditions 5 times repeatedly.

1.  Idle the engine for 20 s.

2.  Accelerate in 2nd gear to 35 km/h and drive the vehicle while maintaining the speed for 25 s.

3.  Stop the vehicle and idle the engine for 20 s.

•  Stop the engine.

•  Display the DTCs using the M-MDS.

•  Has DTC P2452:00 been recorded?

Yes

Repeat the inspection from Step 1.

•  If the malfunction recurs, replace the PCM, then go to the next step.

No

Go to the next step.

VERIFY OTHER DTCs

•  Has any other DTC or pending code been stored?

Yes

Repair the malfunctioning location according to the applicable DTC troubleshooting.

No

3	INSPECT EXHAUST GAS PRESSURE SENSOR NO.2 CONNECTOR CONDITION • Switch the ignition OFF. • Disconnect the exhaust gas pressure sensor No.2 connector. • Inspect the connector engagement and connection condition, and inspect the terminals for damage, deformation, corrosion, or disconnection. • Is the connector normal?	Yes	Go to the next step.
3		No	Repair or replace the connector, then go to Step 6.
4	INSPECT PCM CONNECTOR CONDITION • Disconnect the PCM connector. • Inspect the connector engagement and connection condition, and inspect the terminals for damage, deformation, corrosion, or disconnection. • Is the connector normal?	Yes	Go to the next step.
4		No	Repair or replace the connector, then go to Step 6.
5	INSPECT EXHAUST GAS PRESSURE SENSOR NO.2 • Reconnect all disconnected connectors and hoses. • Inspect exhaust gas pressure sensor No.2. (See EXHAUST GAS PRESSURE SENSOR INSPECTION [SKYACTIV-D 2.2]) • Is exhaust gas pressure sensor No.2 normal?	Yes	Go to the next step.
5		No	Replace exhaust gas pressure sensor No.2, then go to the next step. (See EXHAUST GAS PRESSURE SENSOR REMOVAL/INSTALLATION [SKYACTIV-D 2.2])
6	VERIFY THAT REPAIRS HAVE BEEN COMPLETED • Reconnect all disconnected connectors and hoses. • Refer to the [MEMORY CLEARING PROCEDURE] and clear the DTC. (See CLEARING DTC [PCM (SKYACTIV-D 2.2)]) • Start the engine and warm it up. • Drive the vehicle on flat roads under the following conditions 5 times repeatedly. 1. Idle the engine for 20 s. 2.
