Intake shutter valve control device in PCM: Run error

Detection condition
Determination condition
•  Malfunction occurred in the signal circuit of the intake shutter valve in the PCM.
Preconditions
•  All of the following conditions are met.
―  Battery voltage: 8—16 V
―  0.5 s elapses after engine is started
Drive cycle
•  1
Self-test type
•  CMDTC self test
Sensor/unit used
•  PCM
Fail-safe
•  Limits engine torque.
•  Limits the maximum engine speed.
•  Inhibits the automatic diesel particulate filter regeneration control.
•  Inhibits the manual diesel particulate filter regeneration control.
•  Inhibits the intake shutter valve control.
•  Inhibits the EGR control.
•  Inhibits engine-stop by i-stop control.

Function Explanation (DTC Detection Outline)

•  If the intake shutter valve control driver in the PCM has a malfunction or there is a communication error between the intake shutter valve control driver in the PCM and the CPU, the PCM stores DTCs.

Repeatability Verification Procedure

•  Leave the vehicle for 10 s with the ignition switched ON (engine off) or while idling.

•  Reconnect all the disconnected connectors.
•  Refer to the [MEMORY CLEARING PROCEDURE] and clear the DTC.
•  Implement the repeatability verification procedure.
•  Display the DTCs using the M-MDS.
•  Has DTC P16A0:00 been recorded?
Yes
Replace the PCM, then go to the next step.
No
Go to the next step.

Repair the malfunctioning location according to the applicable DTC troubleshooting.
