Note
•  The urea tank heater is built into the urea pump. When replacing the urea tank heater, replace the urea pump.

PID/DATA Monitor Inspection

1.  Connect the M-MDS to the DLC-2.

2.  Switch the ignition ON (engine off).

3.  Access the PID/DATA monitor item HTR_TANK and simulation item HTR_TANK using the M-MDS. (See ON-BOARD DIAGNOSTIC TEST [DOSING CONTROL UNIT (SKYACTIV-D 2.2)].)

4.  Verify that the value of the conforming PID HTR_TANK increases when the simulation item HTR_TANK value is increased.

•  If not as verified, replace the urea pump. (See UREA PUMP REMOVAL/INSTALLATION [SKYACTIV-D 2.2].)

Resistance Inspection

1.  Disconnect the negative battery terminal. (See NEGATIVE BATTERY TERMINAL DISCONNECTION/CONNECTION.)

2.  Disconnect the urea level sensor/urea temperature sensor/urea tank heater connector. (See UREA PUMP REMOVAL/INSTALLATION [SKYACTIV-D 2.2].)

3.  Inspect the resistance between urea level sensor/urea temperature sensor/urea tank heater terminals D and E.
