PM SENSOR INSPECTION [SKYACTIV-D 2.2]

DTC Inspection

1.  Connect the M-MDS to the DLC-2.

2.  Perform the DTC inspection using the M-MDS. (See ON-BOARD DIAGNOSTIC TEST [DOSING CONTROL UNIT (SKYACTIV-D 2.2)].)

•  If any DTC related to the PM sensor is present, repair the malfunctioning location according to the applicable DTC troubleshooting. (See DTC TABLE [DOSING CONTROL UNIT (SKYACTIV-D 2.2)].)


Visual Inspection

Caution
•  Do not disconnect the connector between the PM sensor control module and PM sensor. Otherwise, it could adversely affect the PM sensor control module.
•  To prevent a malfunction, do not clean the PM sensor.

1.  Disconnect the negative battery terminal. (See NEGATIVE BATTERY TERMINAL DISCONNECTION/CONNECTION.)

2.  Remove the PM sensor. (See PM SENSOR REMOVAL/INSTALLATION [SKYACTIV-D 2.2].)

3.  Visually inspect the PM sensor for the following malfunction:

•  Damage, cracks, soiling
•  Sensor end clogging
•  Rusted sensor terminal
•  Bent sensor terminal
•  Damage to exterior of wiring harness
―  If there is any malfunction, repair or replace the PM sensor. (See PM SENSOR REMOVAL/INSTALLATION [SKYACTIV-D 2.2].)
