Purpose, Function

•  Warns the driver of a 4WD system malfunction.

Construction

Type A and type B
•  The 4WD warning indication is displayed on the multi-information display.
Type C
•  The 4WD warning light is built into the instrument cluster.

Operation

•  If any of the following conditions is met, the 4WD warning light turns on or flashes, and a message is displayed in the instrument cluster.
•  The 4WD warning light operation is controlled by the 4WD control module.

Temperature of rear differential oil is the specification or more, or when an excessively large difference in rotation speed between front or rear tires continues, such as extracting the vehicle when stuck
Flash
4WD control is temporarily stopped to protect 4WD system

Type A and type B
1.   The instrument cluster receives (1) a system malfunction indication request signal from the 4WD control module via CAN communication.
2.  The instrument cluster displays (2) the 4WD warning light and system malfunction on the multi-information display based on the system malfunction indication request signal.

Type C
1.  The instrument cluster receives (1) the system malfunction indication request signal from the 4WD control module via CAN communication.
2.  The instrument cluster turns the transistor on (2) based on the system malfunction indication request signal.
3.  When the transistor turns on, the 4WD warning light turns on (3).

•  A warning message is displayed on the center display when the 4WD warning light is turned on. For the message content and verification method, refer to the CENTER DISPLAY. (See CENTER DISPLAY [WITH CENTER DISPLAY].)
