Description

Collision signal error

Detection condition

•  When all of the following conditions continue for 3 s.

―  1.5 s or more have elapsed after ignition was switched ON

―  Rear body control module (RBCM) receives signal indicating that SAS control module detected malfunction

•  DTCs are stored in the SAS control module.

―  Crash zone sensor malfunction

―  SAS control module malfunction

•  Rear body control module (RBCM) malfunction

Diagnostic Procedure

Step	Inspection		Action
1	VERIFY SAS CONTROL MODULE DTCs • Perform the DTC inspection for the SAS control module using the M-MDS. (See DTC INSPECTION [SAS CONTROL MODULE (STANDARD DEPLOYMENT CONTROL SYSTEM)].) (See DTC INSPECTION [SAS CONTROL MODULE (TWO-STEP DEPLOYMENT CONTROL SYSTEM)].) • Are any DTCs present?	Yes	Go to the applicable DTC inspection. (See DTC TABLE [SAS CONTROL MODULE (STANDARD DEPLOYMENT CONTROL SYSTEM)].) (See DTC TABLE [SAS CONTROL MODULE (TWO-STEP DEPLOYMENT CONTROL SYSTEM)].)
1		No	Go to the next step.
2	VERIFY THAT REPAIRS HAVE BEEN COMPLETED • Clear rear body control module (RBCM) DTCs using the M-MDS. (See CLEARING DTC [REAR BODY CONTROL MODULE (RBCM)].) • Perform the DTC inspection for the rear body control module (RBCM) using the M-MDS. (See DTC INSPECTION [REAR BODY CONTROL MODULE (RBCM)].) • Is the same Pending DTC present?	Yes	Repeat the inspection from Step 1. • If the malfunction recurs, replace the rear body control module (RBCM), then go to the next step. (See REAR BODY CONTROL MODULE (RBCM) REMOVAL/INSTALLATION.)
2		No	Go to the next step.
3	VERIFY IF OTHER DTCs DISPLAYED • Are any other DTCs displayed?	Yes	Repair or replace the malfunctioning part according to the applicable DTC troubleshooting. (See DTC TABLE [REAR BODY CONTROL MODULE (RBCM)].)
3		No	DTC troubleshooting completed.

With Mazda ERA-GLONASS control module

1		No	Go to the next step.
