Description

Error signal received from DSC HU/CM

Detection condition
•  The radar unit detects the following conditions.
―  There is an error in the following signals sent from the DSC HU/CM.
•  Yaw rate signal
•  Lateral-G signal
•  Wheel speed signal
•  Brake fluid pressure signal
•  Cruise control system control signal
•  Signal error in brake light circuit
―  DSC HU/CM internal malfunction
Fail-safe
•  Inhibits the Mazda radar cruise control (MRCC) system control
•  Inhibits the smart brake support (SBS) system control
•  Inhibits the distance recognition support system (DRSS) control*1
*1: Enabled depending on malfunction content.
Possible cause
•  DTCs are stored in the SAS control module.
―  SAS control module malfunction
•  DTCs are stored in the DSC HU/CM.
•  DTCs are stored in the rear body control module (RBCM).
―  Rear body control module (RBCM) malfunction
•  DSC HU/CM malfunction
•  Radar unit malfunction

PERFORM DTC INSPECTION FOR SAS CONTROL MODULE
•  Are any DTCs present?
Yes
Go to the applicable DTC inspection.
Go to Step 5.
No
Go to the next step.

PERFORM DTC INSPECTION FOR DSC HU/CM
•  Perform the DSC HU/CM DTC inspection using the M-MDS.
•  Are any DTCs present?
Yes
Go to the applicable DTC inspection.
Go to Step 5.
No
Go to the next step.

PERFORM DTC INSPECTION FOR REAR BODY CONTROL MODULE (RBCM)
•  Perform the rear body control module (RBCM) DTC inspection using the M-MDS.
•  Are any DTCs present?
Yes
Go to the applicable DTC inspection.
Go to Step 5.
No
Go to the next step.

VERIFY IF MALFUNCTIONING LOCATION IS DSC HU/CM DEPENDING ON REPEATABILITY
•  Clear radar unit DTCs using the M-MDS.
•  Switch the ignition ON (engine on).
•  Drive the vehicle at 40 km/h {25 mph} or more for 3 min or more.
•  Perform the radar unit DTC inspection using the M-MDS.
•  Is the same Pending DTC present?
Yes
Replace the DSC HU/CM, then go to the next step.
No
Go to the next step.
5
VERIFY THAT REPAIRS HAVE BEEN COMPLETED
•  Clear radar unit DTCs using the M-MDS.
•  Switch the ignition ON (engine on).
•  Perform the radar unit DTC inspection using the M-MDS.
•  Is the same Pending DTC present?
Yes
Repeat the inspection from Step 1.
•  If the malfunction does not recur, go to the next step.
•  If the malfunction recurs, replace the radar unit.
Go to the next step.
No
Go to the next step.
6
VERIFY THAT NO OTHER DTCs ARE PRESENT
•  Verify other DTCs displayed.
•  Are any other DTCs output?
Yes
Perform the corresponding DTC inspection.
No
DTC troubleshooting completed.
