Description

•  The system screen is displayed in the LCD even if the system is operated.
•  The display in the LCD is unmatched with the system operation.

Possible malfunction

Note
•  The detection performance of the radar unit has limitations and the mazda radar cruise control (MRCC) system may not operate normally. For the detection performance limitations, refer to the [RADAR UNIT] in the technical guide.
•  All or some of the LCD cannot be displayed
―  Instrument cluster malfunction (display malfunction)
―  Connector connection malfunction
•  Radar unit output false signal
―  False signal input from steering switch/cruise control switch
―  Radar unit malfunction

INSPECT INSTRUMENT CLUSTER
•  Inspect the LCD using the M-MDS instrument cluster active command modes LCD_SEG.
•  Is the LCD displayed normally?
Yes
Go to the next step.
No
Replace the instrument cluster.

VERIFY INSTRUMENT CLUSTER CONNECTOR CONDITION
•  Disconnect the negative battery cable.
•  Disconnect the instrument cluster connector.
•  Inspect the connector engagement and connection condition and inspect the terminals for damage, deformation, corrosion, or disconnection.
•  Is the connector normal?
Yes
Go to the next step.
No
Repair or replace the connector.

INSPECT STEERING SWITCH/CRUISE CONTROL SWITCH
•  Inspect the steering switch/cruise control switch.
•  Is the steering switch/cruise control switch normal?
Yes
Go to the next step.
No
Replace the steering switch/cruise control switch.

INSPECT RADAR UNIT
•  Inspect the radar unit.
•  Is the radar unit normal?
Yes
Symptom troubleshooting is completed.
No
Replace the radar unit.
