VERIFY FREEZE FRAME DATA HAS BEEN RECORDED
• Has FREEZE FRAME PID DATA been recorded?

Yes
|
Go to next step.
|
No
|
Record FREEZE FRAME PID DATA on repair order, then go to next step.

|
VERIFY RELATED SERVICE INFORMATION AVAILABILITY
• Check for related Service Bulletins availability.
• Is any related repair Information available?
|
Yes
|
Perform repair or diagnosis according to available repair Information.
• If vehicle is not repaired, go to next step.
|
No
|
Go to next step.

|
VERIFY CURRENT INPUT SIGNAL STATUS: IS CONCERN INTERMITTENT OR CONSTANT?
• Connect the WDS or equivalent to the DLC-2.
• Start the engine.
• Access the VSS PID.
• Read the VSS PID when the vehicle is driving.
• Is the VSS PID normal?

Yes
|
Intermittent concern exists.
Perform the "INTERMITTENT CONCERNS TROUBLESHOOTING ".
|
No
|
Go to next step.

|
INSPECT ABS HU/CM OR DSC HU/CM
• For with ABS HU/CM: inspect ABS HU/CM.
• For with DSC HU/CM: inspect DSC HU/CM.
• Is there any malfunction?
|
Yes
|
Repair or replace the malfunctioning part, then go to next step.
|
No
|
Go to next step.

|
VERIFY TROUBLESHOOTING OF DTC P0500 COMPLETED
• Make sure to reconnect all disconnected connectors.
• Clear DTC from memory using WDS or equivalent.
• Warm up engine.
• Drive vehicle under following conditions for 4.5 seconds or more while monitoring PIDs.

- Engine coolant temp: 60 °C {140 °F} or above
-
- Drive in D range
-
- Frequency of input/turbine speed sensor: 800 Hz or above
• Is pending code present?

Yes
|
Replace TCM, then go to next step.
|
No
|
No concern is detected. Go to next step.
|

|
VERIFY AFTER REPAIR PROCEDURE
• Perform "After Repair Procedure".
• Are any DTCs present?
|
Yes
|
Go to applicable DTC inspection.
|
No
|
Troubleshooting completed.
