DESCRIPTION

•  Message related to sedimentor indicated on the center display. (With center display)

•  Message related to sedimentor indicated on the LCD in the instrument cluster. (Type A instrument cluster)

POSSIBLE CAUSE

•  PCM DTC is stored.

•  Sedimentor switch malfunction

•  Instrument cluster malfunction

•  Are any DTCs present?

Yes

Go to the applicable DTC inspection.

No

Go to the next step.

INSPECT SEDIMENTOR SWITCH

•  Inspect the sedimentor switch.
(See SEDIMENTOR SWITCH INSPECTION [SKYACTIV-D 2.2].)

•  Is the sedimentor switch normal?

Yes

Go to the next step.

No

Replace the fuel filter, then go to Step 4.

INSPECT INSTRUMENT CLUSTER

•  Inspect the instrument cluster.
(See INSTRUMENT CLUSTER INSPECTION.)

•  Is the instrument cluster normal?

Yes

Go to the next step.

No

Replace the instrument cluster, then go to the next step.

(See INSTRUMENT CLUSTER REMOVAL/INSTALLATION.)

Verify the test results.

•  If normal, return to the diagnostic index to service any additional symptoms.
(See SYMPTOM DIAGNOSTIC INDEX [SKYACTIV-D 2.2].)

•  If a malfunction remains, inspect the related Service Information and perform the repair or diagnosis.

―  If the vehicle is repaired, troubleshooting is completed.

―  If the vehicle is not repaired or additional diagnostic information is not available, replace the PCM.
