Key off voltage high

DETECTION CONDITION

•  The PCM monitors the voltage from the main relay. If the voltage is more than 10 V when the ignition switch is off, the PCM determines that there is malfunction main relay circuit.

Diagnostic support note

•  The MIL does not illuminate.

•  The DTC is stored in the PCM memory.

POSSIBLE CAUSE

•  Main relay malfunction

•  Connector or terminal malfunction

•  Short to power supply between main relay terminal C and PCM terminal 119/120

•  PCM malfunction

Diagnostic procedure

STEP	INSPECTION		ACTION
1	VERIFY FREEZE FRAME DATA HAS BEEN RECORDED • Has FREEZE FRAME DATA been recorded?	Yes	Go to the next step.
1		No	Record the FREEZE FRAME DATA on the repair order, then go to the next step.
2	VERIFY RELATED SERVICE INFORMATION • Verify related Service Information availability. • Is any related Service Information available?	Yes	Perform repair or diagnosis according to available Service Information. • If vehicle is not repaired, go to the next step.
2		No	Go to the next step.
3	IDENTIFY TRIGGER DTC FOR FREEZE FRAME DATA • Is DTC P1196:00 on FREEZE FRAME DATA?	Yes	Go to the next step.
3		No	Go to troubleshooting procedures for DTC in FREEZE FRAME DATA. (See DTC TABLE [MZR-CD (RF Turbo)].)
4	INSPECT MAIN RELAY CONNECTOR FOR POOR CONNECTION • Switch the ignition to off. • Disconnect the main relay connector. • Inspect for poor connection (such as damaged/pulled-out pins, and corrosion). • Is there any malfunction?	Yes	Repair or replace terminal, then go to Step 7.
4		No	Go to the next step.
5	INSPECT MAIN RELAY • Inspect the main relay. • Is it normal?	Yes	Go to the next step.
5		No	Install the sensor securely, then go to the Step 7.
6	INSPECT MAIN RELAY CIRCUIT FOR SHORT TO POWER SUPPLY • Switch the ignition to ON (Engine off). • Measure voltage between main relay terminal C (wiring harness-side) and body ground. • Is the voltage B+?	Yes	Repair or replace for short to power supply. Then, go to the next step.
6		No	Go to the next step.
7	VERIFY TROUBLESHOOTING OF DTC P1196:00 COMPLETED • Make sure to reconnect all disconnected connectors. • Switch the ignition to ON (Engine off). • Clear the DTC from the PCM memory using the M-MDS. • Start the engine. • Perform the OBD DRIVE MODE. (See OBD DRIVE MODE [MZR-CD (RF Turbo)].) • Is the same DTC present?	Yes	Replace the PCM, go to the next step. (See PCM REMOVAL/INSTALLATION [MZR-CD (RF Turbo)].)
7		No	Go to the next step.
8	VERIFY AFTER REPAIR PROCEDURE • Perform the "AFTER REPAIR PROCEDURE". (See AFTER REPAIR PROCEDURE [MZR-CD (RF Turbo)].) • Are any DTCs present?	Yes	Go to the applicable DTC inspection. (See DTC TABLE [MZR-CD (RF Turbo)].)
8		No	Troubleshooting completed.
