Caution
•  To prevent the A/F sensor damage, do not perform the following operation before starting the engine for the first time after the PCM is replaced.
―  Fully depress and release the accelerator pedal three times repeatedly while depressing the brake pedal with the switch the ignition to ON position.
Note
•  If the PCM is replaced, always perform each adjustment procedure using the following steps.

Perform diesel particulate filter regeneration procedure.
Note
•  If diesel particulate filter regeneration cannot be performed, go to Step 3.
Engine coolant temperature 70 °C {158 °F} or more.

Using the following PIDs, verify that the diesel particulate filter regeneration has been completed.
―  REG_REQ_A
―  REG_REQ_F

Read the PCM configuration data.

Replace the PCM.
Note
•  When reusing a used PCM, perform the following data reset beforehand.
―  Engine oil data reset
―  PCM data reset

Switch the ignition to on.

Write the PCM configuration data.

Perform A/F sensor date reset procedure.

Perform IMMOBILIZER SYSTEM programming.

Perform after repair procedure.

Switch the ignition to off.

Wait for 20 s.

Start the engine.
Verify that the MIL does not illuminate.

Switch the ignition to off.

Switch the ignition to on. (Engine off)

Perform KOEO self-test procedure.

Perform Intake shutter valve/EGR valve initialization procedure.
Engine coolant temperature 60–95 °C {140–203 °F}.

Perform exhaust gas pressure sensor data reset procedure.

Switch the ignition to off.

Wait for 20 s.

Start the engine.

Perform KOER self-test procedure.
Warm up until the exhaust gas temperature (EXHTEMP1, EXHTEMP2, EXHTEMP3 PID) is 100 °C {212 °F} or more.

Perform fuel injector injection amount correction procedure.
Engine coolant temperature 65–95 °C {149–203 °F}.
Intake air temperature 15–65 °C {59–149 °F}.
Fuel temperature 30–60 °C {86–140 °F}.

Switch the ignition to off.

Wait for 20 s.

Start the engine.

Perform diesel particulate filter assessment procedure.

Perform diesel particulate filter regeneration procedure.
Caution
•  If the diesel particulate filter manual regeneration has not been performed in Step 1, perform the diesel particulate filter manual regeneration twice.
Engine coolant temperature 70 °C {158°F} or more.

Using the following PIDs, verify that the diesel particulate filter regeneration has been completed.
―  REG_REQ_A
―  REG_REQ_F

Perform repair verification drive mode.

Verify that O2S11_CAL value is not 0 using the PID O2S11_CAL.
―  If the value is 0, return to the previous step.

Switch the ignition to off.


L.H.D. specs.

1.  Disconnect the negative battery cable.

2.  Remove in the order indicated in the table.

3.  Install in the reverse order of removal.


R.H.D. Specs.

1.  Disconnect the negative battery cable.

2.  Remove the front side trim (left-side). (See FRONT SIDE TRIM REMOVAL/INSTALLATION.)

3.  Remove the front scuff plate (left-side). (See FRONT SCUFF PLATE REMOVAL/INSTALLATION.)

4.  Partially peek back the floor covering.

5.  Remove in the order indicated in the table.

6.  Install in the reverse order of removal.


Set Bolt Removal Note

1.  Using a chisel and a hammer, cut a groove on the head of the set bolt so that a screwdriver can be inserted.

2.  Loose the set bolt using an impact screwdriver or pliers.

Set Bolt Installation Note

1.  Install a new set bolt and tighten it until the neck of the bolt is cut.
