Engine overspeed condition |

DETECTION CONDITION
|
• The PCM monitors the engine speed. If the engine speed is 5,300 rpm or more, the PCM determines that there is a malfunction in the control system.
Diagnostic support note
• The MIL does not illuminate.
• The DTC is stored in the PCM memory.

POSSIBLE CAUSE
|
• Inadequate engine compression due to engine internal malfunction
• PCM malfunction

• Has FREEZE FRAME DATA been recorded?

Yes

Go to the next step.

No

Record the FREEZE FRAME DATA on the repair order, then go to the next step.

VERIFY RELATED SERVICE INFORMATION
• Verify related Service Information availability.
• Is any related Service Information available?
|
Yes
|
Perform repair or diagnosis according to available Service Information.
• If vehicle is not repaired, go to Step 4.
|

No
|
Go to the next step.

INSPECT ENGINE COMPRESSION
• Inspect the engine compression.
• Is it normal?
|
Yes
|
Go to the next step.
|
|
No
|
Perform engine overhaul for repairs, then go to the next step.

|
VERIFY TROUBLESHOOTING OF P0219:00 COMPLETED
• Make sure to reconnect all disconnected connectors.
• Clear the DTC from the PCM memory using the M-MDS.
• Start the engine.
• Is the PENDING CODE for this DTC present?

Yes
|
Replace the PCM, then go to the next step.
|

No
|
Go to the next step.

VERIFY AFTER REPAIR PROCEDURE
• Perform the “AFTER REPAIR PROCEDURE”.
• Is any DTC present?

Yes
|
Go to the applicable DTC inspection.

No
|
DTC troubleshooting completed.
