OIL PRESSURE SWITCH INSPECTION [FS5A-EL]

Caution
•  Water or foreign objects entering the connector can cause a poor connection or corrosion. Be sure not to drop water or foreign objects on the connector when disconnecting it.

On-vehicle Inspection (oil pressure switch inspection)

1.  Disconnect the negative battery cable.

2.  Remove the aerodynamic under cover No.2. (See AERODYNAMIC UNDER COVER NO.2 REMOVAL/INSTALLATION.)

3.  Disconnect the cord assembly connector.

4.  Start the engine, with gear position in N or P.

5.  Inspect that there is no continuity between cord assembly terminal and ground.

6.  Firmly depress the brake pedal with the left foot.

7.  Shift the selector lever to D range.

8.  Verify that there is continuity between oil pressure switch terminal and ground.

•  If not as specified, replace the oil pressure switch. (See OIL PRESSURE SWITCH REMOVAL/INSTALLATION [FS5A-EL].)

9.  Connect the cord assembly connector.

10.  Install the aerodynamic under cover NO.2. (See AERODYNAMIC UNDER COVER NO.2 REMOVAL/INSTALLATION.)

11.  Connect the negative battery cable.


Off-vehicle inspection

1.  Remove the oil pressure switch.

(1)  Disconnect the negative battery cable.
(2)  Remove the aerodynamic under cover.
(3)  Disconnect the cord assembly connector.
(4)  Remove the oil pressure switch.(See OIL PRESSURE SWITCH REMOVAL/INSTALLATION [FS5A-EL].)

2.  Apply air pressure at 400—440 kPa {4.1—4.4 kgf/cm2,58—63 psi} shown in the figure.

3.  Inspect continuity between oil pressure switch terminal and screw part.

•  If not as continuity, replace the oil pressure switch. (See OIL PRESSURE SWITCH REMOVAL/INSTALLATION [FS5A-EL].)
