Malfunction Location

•  Front door latch switch (driver’s side) circuit malfunction

Detection Condition

•  Open circuit detected in front door latch switch (driver’s side) circuit with the front driver’s door closed (front door latch switch {driver’s side} on)

Possible Causes


L.H.D.

•  Open circuit in wiring harness between front door latch switch (driver’s side) connector terminal L and BCM connector terminal 8B
•  Open circuit in wiring harness between front door latch switch (driver’s side) connector terminal D and body ground
•  Front door latch switch (driver’s side) malfunction
•  BCM malfunction


R.H.D.

•  Open circuit in wiring harness between front door latch switch (driver’s side) connector terminal B and BCM connector terminal 8B
•  Open circuit in wiring harness between front door latch switch (driver’s side) connector terminal J and body ground
•  Front door latch switch (driver’s side) malfunction
•  BCM malfunction

PERFORM DTC INSPECTION
•  Clear DTCs using the M-MDS.
•  Perform the BCM DTC inspection using the M-MDS with the front driver's door closed (front door latch switch {driver's side} on).
•  Is DTC B1175:13 displayed?
Yes
Go to the next step.
No
DTC troubleshooting completed.

INSPECT FRONT DOOR LATCH SWITCH (DRIVER’S SIDE) CONNECTOR CONDITION
•  Switch the ignition to off.
•  Disconnect the negative battery cable.
•  Disconnect the front door latch switch (driver’s side) connector.
•  Inspect the connector and terminals (corrosion, damage, pin disconnection).
•  Is the connector normal?
Yes
Go to the next step.
No
Repair/replace the connector or terminal.
After repair procedure, go to Step 8.

INSPECT FRONT DOOR LATCH SWITCH (DRIVER’S SIDE) CIRCUIT FOR OPEN CIRCUIT
L.H.D.
•  Reconnect the negative battery cable.
•  Measure the voltage at front door latch switch (driver’s side) connector terminal L.
•  Can the voltage be measured?
R.H.D.
•  Reconnect the negative battery cable.
•  Measure the voltage at front door latch switch (driver’s side) connector terminal B.
•  Can the voltage be measured?
Yes
Go to the next step.
No
Go to Step 6

INSPECT FRONT DOOR LATCH SWITCH (DRIVER’S SIDE) CIRCUIT FOR OPEN CIRCUIT
L.H.D.
•  Inspect for continuity between front door latch switch (driver’s side) connector terminal D and body ground.
•  Is there continuity?
R.H.D.
•  Inspect for continuity between front door latch switch (driver’s side) connector terminal J and body ground.
•  Is there continuity?
Yes
Go to the next step.
No
Repair/replace the wiring harness.
After repair procedure, go to Step 8.

INSPECT FRONT DOOR LATCH SWITCH (DRIVER’S SIDE)
•  Inspect the front door latch switch (driver’s side).
•  Is the front door latch switch (driver’s side) normal?
Yes
Go to Step 8.
No
Replace the front door latch switch (driver’s side).
After replacement, go to Step 8.

INSPECT BCM CONNECTOR CONDITION
•  Disconnect the negative battery cable.
•  Disconnect the BCM connector.
•  Inspect the connector and terminals (corrosion, damage, pin disconnection).
•  Is the connector normal?
Yes
Go to Step 8.
No
Repair/replace the connector or terminal.
After repair procedure, go to Step 8.

INSPECT BCM
•  Reconnect the BCM connector.
•  Reconnect the negative battery cable.
•  Measure the voltage at BCM connector terminal 8B.
•  Is the voltage normal?
Yes
Go to the next step.
No
Repair/replace the wiring harness.
After repair procedure, go to the next step.

VERIFY DTC
•  Reconnect the disconnected connectors and the negative battery cable.
•  Clear DTCs using the M-MDS.
•  Perform the BCM DTC inspection using the M-MDS with the front driver's door closed (front door latch switch {driver's side} on).
•  Is the same DTC present?
Yes
Repeat the inspection from Step 1.
If the malfunction recurs, replace the BCM.
Go to the next step.
No
Go to the next step.
9
VERIFY THAT NO OTHER DTCs ARE PRESENT
•  Are there other DTCs output?
Yes
Perform the corresponding DTC inspection.
No
DTC troubleshooting completed.
