AFS (ADAPTIVE FRONT LIGHTING SYSTEM) INITIALIZATION
id091800813300
Without using M-MDS
-
Caution
-
• Perform with the vehicle in an unloaded condition (no occupants; spare tire, jack and tools are in designated positions).
• Perform the procedures in Steps 1 to 3 within 30 s.
1. Switch the ignition to ON.
-
• Repair or replace for the malfunction, then repeat the procedure from Step 1.
-
Note
-
• If the AFS control module has never been initialized, the AFS OFF light flashes 2 times at 0.5 s intervals, every 1.25 s repeatedly, however this does not indicate a procedural mistake, and continue with the procedure as it is.
2. Turn on the headlights.
3. Connect terminal B (INIT) of the DLC-2 to terminal J (GND) using a jumper wire.
-
Caution
-
• If the terminals are mistakenly connected, vehicle damage or fire could occur. When connecting with the jumper wire, thoroughly verify what terminals are being connected to prevent a miss-connection.
4. The AFS OFF light flashes 3 times at 0.25 s intervals, and then it turns off. Also, verify that the headlight optical axis lowers from its current position and returns to its original position, and the light-bending illuminates.
-
Caution
-
-
― AFS OFF light does not flash 3 times at 0.25 s intervals
― Headlight optical axis does not move
― Light-bending does not illuminate
• Repair or replace the malfunctioning area, then repeat the procedure from Step 1.
5. Disconnect the jumper wire from DLC-2.
