SECURITY LIGHT: 15

The keyless unit has detected unregistered key ID number.

DTC: B1601/P1260

DETECTION CONDITION

•  The keyless unit has detected unregistered key ID number.

POSSIBLE CAUSE

•  No keys have been registered after replacing the keyless unit.

•  Unregistered key used

•  Attempt made to register a ninth key

•  Keyless unit malfunction

VERIFY NUMBER OF REGISTERED KEYS

•  Using the WDS or equivalent, perform the PID/data monitor inspection and confirm the number of registered keys.
(See PID/DATA MONITOR TABLE.)

•  Are one or more keys registered?

Yes

Go to the next step.

No

Go to Step 3.

VERIFY NUMBER OF REGISTERED KEYS

•  Using the WDS or equivalent, perform the PID/data monitor inspection and confirm the number of registered keys.
(See PID/DATA MONITOR TABLE.)

•  Are eight keys registered?

Yes

Using the WDS or equivalent, clear the key ID numbers as necessary, then go to the next step.

No

Go to the next step.

INSPECT KEYLESS UNIT

•  Using the WDS or equivalent, register the key ID number.
(See IMMOBILIZER SYSTEM COMPONENT REPLACEMENT/KEY ADDITION AND CLEARING.)

Note

•  Two or more keys must be registered to start the engine.

•  Using the registered key, turn the ignition switch to the ON position.

•  Is the DTC displayed again?

―  SECURITY LIGHT: 15

―  WDS or equivalent: B1601/P1260

Yes

Replace the keyless unit and perform procedures for when replacing the keyless unit only.
