•  Malfunction in the 4WD lock indicator light control circuit
―  4WD lock switch malfunction
―  Instrument cluster malfunction
―  Short to power supply in 4WD lock indicator light wiring harness
―  Short to power supply in 4WD lock switch wiring harness

INSPECT 4WD SWITCH
•  Inspect the 4WD lock switch.
•  Is the 4WD lock switch normal?
Yes
Go to the next step.
No
Replace the 4WD lock switch.

INSPECT 4WD LOCK INDICATOR LIGHT WIRING HARNESS FOR SHORT TO POWER SUPPLY
•  Turn the ignition switch off.
•  Disconnect the 4WD lock switch connector.
•  Turn the ignition switch to the ON position.
•  Measure the voltage between the 4WD lock switch vehicle-side terminal B and ground.
•  Is the voltage less than 1.0 V?
Yes
•  Inspect the instrument cluster. (See INSTRUMENT CLUSTER REMOVAL/INSTALLATION.)
•  If there is any malfunction, repair or replace the applicable part.
No
Repair or replace the wiring harness between 4WD lock switch terminal B and instrument cluster terminal 1A.
