PARKING BRAKE LEVER REMOVAL

1.  Remove the rear wheel and tire assembly.

2.  Remove the floor console. (See FLOOR CONSOLE REMOVAL/INSTALLATION.)

3.  Remove the two screws and the floor console bracket.

4.  When removing parking brake shoes remove the rear disc plate. (See REAR BRAKE (DISC) REMOVAL/INSTALLATION.)

5.  If removing the back plate, remove the rear wheel hub. (See REAR AXLE REMOVAL/INSTALLATION.)

6.  To access the parking brake cable connector, equalizer, and the rear parking brake cables, raise and support the vehicle.

7.  Remove in the order indicated in the table.

Parking Brake Switch Removal Note

1.  Disconnect the parking brake switch connector.

2.  Remove the parking brake switch.


Front Parking brake Cable Removal Note

1.  Disconnect the parking brake cable from the equalizer bracket by compressing the cable conduit locking tabs.

2.  Pull the front parking brake cable through the equalizer bracket.


Rear Parking Brake Cable Removal Note

1.  Release the parking brake cable end from the operating lever and compress the cable conduit locking tabs.

2.  Remove the rear parking brake cable.
