DESCRIPTION
|
• Transaxle is noisy in all ranges when the vehicle is idling.
|
POSSIBLE CAUSE
|
• The malfunction is in the pressure solenoid or oil pump which causes a high-pitched noise to be emitted from the transaxle at idle.
|

Inspect engine condition.
Is there any engine concern (e.g. Rough idle)?

Yes

Go to appropriate symptom troubleshooting.

No
|
Go to the next step.

Stop the engine and turn the ignition switch to the ON position.
Connect the M-MDS to DLC-2.
Simulate LPS PID for 50%.
Is operating sound of the pressure control solenoid heard?
|
Yes
|
Inspect the engine and the transaxle mounts installation condition. Inspect for ATX cooler pipe vibration.
If normal, replace the control valve body and repair or replace any malfunctioning parts.

If any problem remains, replace the transaxle and repair or replace any malfunctioning parts.

Inspect connection of the pressure control solenoid terminal on the ATX for bent terminals, damage, corrosion or looseness.
Inspect for stuck pressure control solenoid.
If the pressure control solenoid is normal, inspect for open or short circuit between the PCM terminal 1B and the pressure control solenoid terminal G.
