O/D OFF indicator light does not illuminate when O/D OFF switch is turned to on

DESCRIPTION

•  O/D OFF indicator light on instrument cluster does not illuminate when the O/D OFF switch is turned on with the ignition switch at ON.

POSSIBLE CAUSE

•  O/D OFF switch or related wiring harness malfunction.

Note

•  Before following the troubleshooting steps, make sure that the Automatic Transaxle On-Board Diagnostic and Automatic Transaxle Basic Inspection are conducted.

Diagnostic procedure

STEP	INSPECTION		ACTION
1	Do other indicator lights illuminate with the ignition switch at on?	Yes	Go to the next step.
1		No	Inspect the meter fuse.
2	Inspect the TCS PID value using the M-MDS. (See PCM INSPECTION[L3].) Is the TCS PID value normal?	Yes	Inspect the instrument cluster.
2		No	Inspect the O/D OFF switch. (See O/D OFF SWITCH INSPECTION[GF4AX-EL].) If the O/D OFF switch is normal, inspect for continuity between the O/D OFF switch and the PCM terminal 1O.
3	• Verify the test results. ― If normal, return to the diagnostic index to service any additional symptoms. ― If the malfunction remains, inspect the related Service Information and perform repair or diagnosis. • If the vehicle is repaired, troubleshooting is completed. • If the vehicle is not repaired or additional diagnostic information is not available, replace the PCM.
