SELECTOR CABLE REMOVAL/INSTALLATION[GF4AX-EL]

1.  Disconnect the negative battery cable.

2.  Remove the following parts.

(1)  Floor console. (See FLOOR CONSOLE REMOVAL/INSTALLATION.)
(2)  GEM (See GENERIC ELECTRONIC MODULE (GEM) REMOVAL/INSTALLATION.)

3.  Remove in the order indicated in the table.

4.  Install in the reverse order of removal.

5.  Adjust the selector cable. (See SELECTOR CABLE ADJUSTMENT.)

Selector Cable Removal Note

1.  Detach the clip.

2.  Remove the spring.

3.  Remove the selector cable from the transaxle shift lever.


Selector Cable Installation Note

1.  Install the rubber with the arrow facing toward the center of the vehicle.

Tightening torque
6.9—9.8 N·m {70—100 kgf·cm, 61—86 in·lbf}

2.  Install the selector cable and clip to the cable bracket.

3.  Install the spring as shown in the figure.

4.  With the spring side at the end of the selector cable facing upward, install the cable to the manual shaft lever.
