HEATER UNIT REMOVAL/INSTALLATION

1.  Drain the engine coolant. (See ENGINE COOLANT REPLACEMENT[AJ (3.0L Duratec)].) (See ENGINE COOLANT REPLACEMENT[L3].)

2.  Disconnect the heater hoses from the heater core.

3.  Remove the dashboard. (See DASHBOARD REMOVAL/INSTALLATION.)

4.  Remove the cooling unit. (See COOLING UNIT REMOVAL/INSTALLATION.)

5.  Slide the rear heat duct (3). (See REAR HEAT DUCT REMOVAL/INSTALLATION.)

6.  Remove the heater unit.

(1)  Remove the heater unit installation nuts.

(2)  Carefully remove the heater unit to avoid spilling engine coolant in the passenger area.

7.  Install in the reverse order of removal.
