GENERATOR REMOVAL/INSTALLATION [YF (2.0L Zetec)]

1. Disconnect the battery cables. (See BATTERY REMOVAL/INSTALLATION [YF (2.0L Zetec)].)

2. Remove the drive belt. (See DRIVE BELT REPLACEMENT [YF (2.0L Zetec)].)

3. Disconnect the electrical connectors.

(1) Remove the nut and disconnect the B+ cable.

(2) Remove the connector.

4. Remove the lower generator bolts.

Note

• Insufficient clearance does not allow the bolt to be completely removed.

5. Loosen the upper generator bolt from the engine but do not remove it from the generator.

6. Move the generator to the rear of the vehicle, then lift up and out of the engine compartment.

Note

• Before reassembling, place the upper bolt into the generator.

7. To install, reverse the removal procedure.
