THROTTLE POSITION (TP) SENSOR REMOVAL/INSTALLATION [L3]

1. Disconnect the negative battery cable.

2. Remove the air duct. (See INTAKE-AIR SYSTEM REMOVAL/INSTALLATION [L3].)

3. Disconnect the TP sensor connector.

4. Remove the TP sensor installation screws.

5. Remove the TP sensor from the throttle body.

6. Verify that the throttle valve is closed completely.

7. Verify that the TP sensor gasket is not deviated or pinched.

8. Install the TP sensor to the throttle body.

9. Tighten the TP sensor installation screws.

1.0-1.4 N·m {11-14 kgf·cm, 8.9-12 in·lbf}

10. Verify that the throttle valve moves smoothly.

11. Connect the TP sensor connector.

12. Referring to the PCM terminal voltage table for the PCM inspection, verify that the output voltage is within the specification when the TP sensor is fully opened/closed.

• If it is not within the specification, replace the throttle body.
