CYLINDER HEAD TEMPERATURE SENSOR INSPECTION [YF (2.0L Zetec)]

• Before performing the following inspection, make sure to follow the procedure as indicated in the troubleshooting flowchart. (See Troubleshooting Procedure.)

Resistance Inspection

1. Disconnect the cylinder head temperature sensor connector.

2. Remove the cylinder head temperature sensor. (See CYLINDER HEAD TEMPERATURE SENSOR REMOVAL/INSTALLATION [YF (2.0L Zetec)].)

3. Place the detection part of the cylinder head temperature sensor in water and while gradually increasing the water temperature, measure the resistance between the cylinder head temperature sensor terminals.

• If it is not within the specification, replace the cylinder head temperature sensor.

• If the monitor item status/specification (reference) is not within the specification, even though the resistance is within the specification, perform the "Circuit Open/Short Inspection".

Measure the cylinder head temperature sensor resistance (approx.).
