REAR DRIVE SHAFT REMOVAL/INSTALLATION

Removal/Installation

1. Disconnect the ABS wheel-speed sensor wiring harness connector (axle side) and secure the wiring harness to an appropriate place where it will not be pulled by mistake while servicing the vehicle.

2. Remove the rear coil spring. (See REAR COIL SPRING REMOVAL/ INSTALLATION.)

3. Remove the nuts and disconnect the upper and lower ball joints.

Caution
• Support the wheel knuckle securely.

4. Remove the bolt and disconnect the rear knuckle from the vehicle.

Note
• Mark the position of the knuckle bolt and cam assembly for correct installation.

5. Remove and discard the nut.

6. Disconnect the parking brake cable.

7. Disconnect the brake pipes.

8. Loosen the shock absorber lower bolt (member side).

9. Loosen the upper lateral rod bolt (member side).

10. Loosen the lower lateral rod bolt (member side).

11. Disconnect the upper lateral (knuckle side).

12. Disconnect the lower lateral (knuckle side).

13. Disconnect the rear drive shaft from the knuckle.

14. Install in the reverse order of removal.
