O/D OFF indicator light does not illuminate when O/D OFF switch is turned to on

DESCRIPTION

• O/D OFF indicator light on instrument cluster does not illuminate when the O/D OFF switch is turned on with the ignition switch at ON.

POSSIBLE CAUSE

• O/D OFF switch or related wiring harness malfunction.
Note
• Before following the troubleshooting steps, make sure that the Automatic Transaxle On-Board Diagnostic and Automatic Transaxle Basic Inspection are conducted.

Diagnostic procedure

Do other indicator lights illuminate with the ignition switch at on?
Yes
Go to the next step.
No
Inspect the meter fuse.

Inspect the TCS PID value using the WDS or equivalent.
Is the TCS PID value normal?
Yes
Inspect the instrument cluster.
No
Inspect the O/D OFF switch.
If the O/D OFF switch is normal, inspect for continuity between the O/D OFF switch and the PCM terminal 19.

• Verify the test results.
- If normal, return to the diagnostic index to service any additional symptoms.
- If the malfunction remains, inspect the related Service Information and perform repair or diagnosis.
• If the vehicle is repaired, troubleshooting is completed.
• If the vehicle is not repaired or additional diagnostic information is not available, replace the PCM.
