Clutch Pedal Free Play Inspection

1. Depress the clutch pedal by hand until clutch resistance is felt, and measure the pedal free play.

• If not within the specification, inspect the clutch cover for damage.

Clutch Pedal Disengagement Point Inspection

1. Apply the parking brake and secure the front and rear of the wheels with the wheel chocks.

2. Start the engine and idle it.

3. Without depressing the clutch pedal, move the

shift lever slowly to the reverse position.

4. When the gear noise is heard, maintain the lever at that position.

5. Depress the clutch pedal slowly.

6. When the gear noise stops (clutch pedal disengagement point), maintain the pedal at that position.

7. Measure distance A, verify that it is within specification.

Clutch Pedal Position Switch Inspection

1. Disconnect the negative battery cable.

2. Disconnect the clutch pedal position switch connector.

3. Verify that the continuity is as indicated in the table.

• If there is any malfunction, replace the clutch pedal position switch. (See CLUTCH PEDAL REMOVAL/INSTALLATION.)
