DIFFERENTIAL FLUID SEAL REMOVAL [LA4AX-EL (CD4E)]

RH

1. Lift up the vehicle.

Note

• Determine the source of ATF leakage. If the leak is from the transaxle, continue with this procedure.

2. If the leakage is from the transfer, remove the transfer. (See TRANSFER CASE REMOVAL [LA4AX-EL (CD4E)].)

3. Remove the transaxle drain plug and drain the ATF.

Note

• Place a suitable drain pan under the vehicle.

4. Remove the front drive shaft (RH). (See FRONT DRIVE SHAFT REMOVAL/INSTALLATION.)

5. Remove the transfer. (See TRANSFER CASE REMOVAL [LA4AX-EL (CD4E)].)

6. Remove the differential fluid seal (RH) using the SSTs.

1. Lift up the vehicle.

2. Remove the transaxle drain plug and drain the ATF.

Note

• Place a suitable drain pan under the vehicle.

3. Remove the front drive shaft (LH). (See FRONT DRIVE SHAFT REMOVAL/INSTALLATION.)

4. Remove the differential fluid seal (LH) using the SSTs.
