STEP	INSPECTION		ACTION
1	VERIFY NUMBER OF PROGRAMMED KEYS • Using the WDS or equivalent, perform the PID/data monitor inspection and verify the number of programmed keys. (See PID/DATA MONITOR TABLE [IMMOBILIZER SYSTEM (PATS)(YF (2.0L Zetec), AJ (3.0L Duratec))].) • Are two or more keys programmed? Note • Two or more keys need be programmed to start the engine.	Yes	The system is normal.
1		No	• Using the WDS or equivalent, clear the key ID number and program a new key if necessary. (See IMMOBILIZER SYSTEM (PATS) KEY ADDITION/CLEARING [YF (2.0L Zetec), AJ (3.0L Duratec)].) • Go to the next step.
2	Verify if any DTCs are displayed. • Using the programmed key, turn the ignition switch to the ON position. • Is DTC B1213 displayed again?	Yes	Replace the PCM and perform the resetting procedure for the immobilizer system when replacing the PCM. (See IMMOBILIZER SYSTEM (PATS) KEY ADDITION/CLEARING [YF (2.0L Zetec), AJ (3.0L Duratec)].)
2		No	DTC inspection completed.

Detection Condition
