VERIFY NUMBER OF PROGRAMMED KEYS
• Using the WDS or equivalent, perform the PID/data monitor inspection and verify the number of programmed keys.
• Are one or more keys programmed?

Yes
|
Go to the next step.
|
No
|
• Using the WDS or equivalent, clear the key ID number and program a new key if necessary.
• Go to the next step.
|

|
VERIFY NUMBER OF PROGRAMMED KEYS
• Using the WDS or equivalent, perform the PID/data monitor inspection and verify the number of programmed keys.
• Are eight keys programmed?

Yes
|
Using the WDS or equivalent, clear the key ID numbers if necessary, then go to the next step.
|
No
|
Go to the next step.
|

• Using the WDS or equivalent, perform the PID inspection and verify SPAREKEY.
• Is ENABLE displayed?
|
Yes
|
Go to the next step.
|
No
|
Select ENABLE using the WDS or equivalent, then go to the next step.

|
Prepare two programmed keys.
• Using the first key, turn the ignition switch to the ON position for 3 s.
• Using the second key, turn the ignition switch to the ON position for 3 s.
• Attempt to start the engine with the second key.
• Does the engine start?

Yes
|
The system is normal.
|
No
|
Go to the next step.
|

|
Inspect the PCM.
• Using the WDS or equivalent, program the key ID number.
• Using the programmed key, turn the ignition switch to the ON position.
• Using the WDS or equivalent, verify if any DTCs are displayed.

- Is DTC B1601 displayed again?
|
Yes
|
Replace the PCM and perform the resetting procedure for the immobilizer system when replacing the PCM.
|
No
|
DTC inspection completed.
|
