INSPECT HEADLIGHT RELAY
Turn the ignition switch to the ON position.
• Set the light switch at flash-to-pass position.
Does passing function operate normally?

Yes
|
Go to Step 7.
|
No
|
Go to the next step.

INSPECT HEADLIGHT RELAY POWER SUPPLY
Turn the ignition switch to the LOCK position.
Disconnect the headlight relay connector.
Measure the voltage at headlight relay connector terminals E and A.
Is the voltage more than 10 V?
|
Yes
|
Go to the next step.
|
No
|
Repair the related wiring harness.
|

|
INSPECT HEADLIGHT RELAY
Inspect the headlight relay. (See RELAY INSPECTION.)
Is the relay normal?
|
Yes
|
Go to the next step.
|
No
|
Replace the headlight relay.
|
||

|
INSPECT RELATED WIRING HARNESS FOR OPEN CIRCUIT
Disconnect the HL LH 15 A fuse and HL RH 15 A fuse.
Measure the resistance between headlight relay terminal B and HL LH 15 A fuse, and between headlight relay terminal B and HL RH 15 A fuse.
Is the resistance less than 5 ohms?

Yes
|
Reinstall the headlight fuses and headlight relay.
Go to the next step.

No
|
Repair the related wiring harness.
|

|
INSPECT LIGHT SWITCH VOLTAGE
Disconnect the light switch connector.
Measure the voltage at light switch terminals D and A.
Is the voltage more than 10 V?

Yes
|
Go to the next step.
|
No
|
Repair the related wiring harness.
|

|
INSPECT LIGHT SWITCH GROUND
Measure the resistance between light switch terminal R and ground.
Is the resistance less than 5 ohms?
|
Yes
|
Replace the light switch.
|
No
|
Repair the related wiring harness.
|

|
INSPECT RELATED WIRING HARNESS FOR OPEN CIRCUIT
Disconnect GEM connector.
Disconnect the light switch connector.
Disconnect the headlight relay connector.
Measure the resistance between light switch terminal H and GEM terminal Q, and between headlight relay terminal C and GEM terminal I.
Is the resistance less than 5 ohms?

Yes
|
Go to the next step.
|
No
|
Repair the related wiring harness.
|

|
INSPECT GEM OPERATION
Disconnect all GEM connectors.
Inspect for the following items:
• Corrosion
• Terminal separation
Connect all the connectors and verify that their positions are correct.
Operate the system and inspect for any malfunction.
Is there any malfunction?

Yes
|
Replace the GEM.
Clear the DTC.
Repeat GEM DTC inspection.
|
No
|
The malfunction may result from loose connectors or corrosion.
Clear the DTC.
Repeat DTC inspection.
