INSPECT RELATED WIRING HARNESS VOLTAGE
Turn the ignition switch to the LOCK position.
Disconnect the map light connector.
Turn the ignition switch to the ON position.
Measure the voltage at map light terminal A.
Is the voltage more than 10 V?

Yes
|
Go to Step 3.
|
No
|
Go to the next step.

INSPECT RELATED WIRING HARNESS FOR OPEN CIRCUIT
Measure the resistance between map light terminal A and GEM terminal 2B.
Is the resistance less than 5 ohms?
|
Yes
|
Go to the next step.
|
No
|
Repair the related wiring harness.
|

|
INSPECT RELATED WIRING HARNESS FOR OPEN CIRCUIT
Turn the ignition switch to the LOCK position.
Measure the resistance between map light terminal B and ground.
Is the resistance less than 5 ohms?

Yes
|
Replace the map light. (See MAP/INTERIOR LIGHT REMOVAL/INSTALLATION.)
|
No
|
Repair the related wiring harness.
|

|
INSPECT GEM OPERATION
Disconnect all the GEM connectors.
Inspect for the following items:
• Corrosion
• Terminal separation
Connect all the connectors and verify that their positions are correct.
Operate the system and inspect for any malfunction.
Is there any malfunction?

Yes
|
Replace the GEM.
Clear the DTC.
Repeat the GEM DTC inspection.
|
No
|
The malfunction may result from loose connectors or corrosion.
Clear the DTC.
Repeat the DTC inspection.
