INSPECT BRAKE SWITCH
Disconnect the brake switch connector.
Does the brake light go out?

Yes
|
Replace the brake switch. (See BRAKE SWITCH REMOVAL/INSTALLATION.)

Repair the short circuit to the power supply in the related wiring harness.
