GF80.57-P-3001GH Checking Function Of Drive Authorization System

Key identification
As soon as the remote control key (1) is inserted into the ignition lock and turned out of the "0" position the ignition/starter switch (S2/1) switches on circuit 15c. The all-activity module (AAM) (N10) requests the alternating code stored in the remote control key, the key number and the special vehicle lock number via the transponder coil (L11). This information is compared with that stored in the AAM. If the information coincides, i.e. a valid key is recognized, the AAM then calculates a new alternating code and writes the new code over the old alternating code in the key and in its own memory. This means that a new alternating code is used for each check.

Start release
When an attempt is made to start the vehicle the engine control module sends a random number to the AAM.

If the drive authorization check has recognized a valid key in the ignition lock the AAM calculates a code from the random number and the special vehicle lock number received from the remote control key. The AAM transfers this code to the engine control module. After checking the code successfully the engine control module releases the engine for starting.
