Variable cruise control pushbutton switch function
When the cruise control switch (S40/4) is operated, two switching contacts are always activated simultaneously. The actual input takes place by closing the switching contact. For the input to be accepted, however, the safety contact must close simultaneously each time the switch is operated.

Note:
- In vehicles with the electronic ignition switch control unit, the switching signals are detected by the electronic ignition switch control unit and transmitted to the CAN databus.
- In vehicles without the electronic ignition switch control unit, the cruise control switch is directly connected to the engine control unit.
- In vehicles with the steering column module, the switching signals are detected by the steering column control unit and transmitted to the CAN databus.
